Getting started
What is PLUSH SCOUT?
A location-scouting app for real productions, not a folder of photos. Shoot on your phone, GPS sorts everything into spots automatically, and you send a client-ready report the same day. See what it fixes for the longer version.
Is PLUSH SCOUT open to everyone right now?
Not yet: we're in an invite-only phase while we finish testing with real productions. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment a spot opens. Approved testers get full access, free, during this phase.
What devices does it run on?
Android has a direct-download app (not on the Play Store yet), iPhone is available through TestFlight, and there's a full web app for the desk work: organizing spots, building the report, exporting. See Get the app for links and install steps.
Photos & GPS
Do I shoot inside the Scout app?
No: use your own camera app, the way you already shoot. When you add the photos to a project, Scout reads the GPS and capture time straight off the files before anything gets compressed, then groups them into spots for you. See Field capture.
Why are some of my iPhone photos missing GPS?
iPhone strips location data from photos uploaded through a browser: that's an iOS restriction, not a Scout bug. The in-app camera has a fallback that stamps GPS itself, and a built-in "Test your device" check tells you before a shoot if your setup will keep location data.
What happens to a photo with no GPS, and does video work?
It's never lost: a photo with no location lands in an Unsorted tray on the project map, and you drag it onto the right spot yourself. Video works the same way, clustering by GPS or capture time alongside the stills. See Video & voice notes.
Sharing
Does the client need an account to view a report?
No. A report is a secret link: the client opens it, browses spots, and can shortlist favourites without signing up or installing anything.
Can I protect a share link?
Yes. Every link can carry a password, an expiry date, and a role: director, producer, or client each see a different version. See Share controls.
Who owns the photos I upload?
You do. PLUSH SCOUT stores and organizes your shoot; the copyright and the files stay yours.
Pricing & plans
What does the free tier include?
One project with the full flow (shooting, GPS sorting, the client report, and exports), kept for 14 days and then removed, so it's built for trying the tool rather than archiving work. Full details at Pricing.
How much do paid plans cost?
Solo covers one scout; Team is custom-quoted for studios with multiple seats. Current prices are on the Pricing page. While we're invite-only, approved waitlist testers get full access free.
Can my whole team use one account?
Yes. Team plans are a shared workspace, not a single login: everyone on the team works inside the same set of projects. See Pricing for plans, or Spot libraries for how finds travel between projects.
